I always have fun reading this series and it improves with each new installment。This one is excellent， engrossing and highly entertaining。I was happy to catch up with the characters， the mystery is solid and the paranormal side always funny。Highly recommended。Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC， all opinions are mine

The Haunted Homecoming is book 10 in the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries series。 I love this series and the books this author writes so I jumped on this as soon as it was released。 Although this book was entertaining， it isn’t my favorite from the series。 I think it was more of a it’s not you it’s me situation。 I really didn’t care for Verity’s mother and there was so much of her in this book that it just didn’t work for me。 I enjoyed seeing all of my favorite characters， especially Lucy， and I The Haunted Homecoming is book 10 in the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries series。 I love this series and the books this author writes so I jumped on this as soon as it was released。 Although this book was entertaining， it isn’t my favorite from the series。 I think it was more of a it’s not you it’s me situation。 I really didn’t care for Verity’s mother and there was so much of her in this book that it just didn’t work for me。 I enjoyed seeing all of my favorite characters， especially Lucy， and I think most of all， I enjoyed that Ellis’ mom， Virginia Wydell， was not a presence in this book。 I am really over her and all of her drama so this was a refreshing change of pace。 There was one part in this book where the author about gave me a heart attack but thankfully all ended well。 The narration was great as usual。 I love Tavia as Verity。 I will be eagerly awaiting the release of book 11。 。。。more

The Haunted Homecoming is the 10th book in Angie Fox’s Southern Ghost Hunter series。 It is homecoming time in Sugarland， Tennessee。 Verity Long， ghost hunter extraordinaire， is very excited that her mother， Tilly， and stepfather will be visiting to participate in the festivities。 And they will be pulling their school bus RV onto her land and staying by her。 But Verity and Tilly have a somewhat difficult relationship in that Tilly drives Verity bonkers。The big to do of the weekend will be the une The Haunted Homecoming is the 10th book in Angie Fox’s Southern Ghost Hunter series。 It is homecoming time in Sugarland， Tennessee。 Verity Long， ghost hunter extraordinaire， is very excited that her mother， Tilly， and stepfather will be visiting to participate in the festivities。 And they will be pulling their school bus RV onto her land and staying by her。 But Verity and Tilly have a somewhat difficult relationship in that Tilly drives Verity bonkers。The big to do of the weekend will be the unearthing and opening of a time capsule buried by the class of ‘85， Tilly’s class。 It was supposed to be buried for 100 years but Roan building supply has donated funds to enlarge and improve the high school’s stadium。 The time capsule， which ended up with submissions from all over Sugarland is buried under the flagpole that must be moved for the renovation。From the time Tilly returned to Sugarland she has been talking about her best high school friend， Ashley Starling， and wondering if she will return like so many others have for the festivities。 Unfortunately， Ashley never left！As Verity investigates what happened to Ashley she encounters several spirits that have not left the school and several folks that have been there for years， but it becomes clear that whomever was responsible for the body beneath the flagpole doesn’t want Verity to continue investigating。This is another wonderfully written tale in the Southern Ghost Hunter series。 It is hard to put down and may just keep you awake late into the night。 I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it！ 。。。more

Was I hooked by that book？ Oh， yes。 It is fun and exciting as always。 The town of Sugarland is celebrating homecoming weekend and everyone is involved。 Even Verity's mother makes a rare appearance in her hometown to attend the festivities。 The whole town is in attendance to witness the early opening of the time capsule。 And things start to heat up for Verity and Ellis when a body is discovered。 I am loving this series so much and I loved this one as well。 Franky is in a heavy funk because hi Was I hooked by that book？ Oh， yes。 It is fun and exciting as always。 The town of Sugarland is celebrating homecoming weekend and everyone is involved。 Even Verity's mother makes a rare appearance in her hometown to attend the festivities。 The whole town is in attendance to witness the early opening of the time capsule。 And things start to heat up for Verity and Ellis when a body is discovered。 I am loving this series so much and I loved this one as well。 Franky is in a heavy funk because his ghostly girlfriend seems to enjoy the company of El Gato more。 His antics are entertaining， as always。 Verity and her mother aren't having the joyful reunion they both wanted as her mother keeps blabbing all of Verity's ghost hunting secrets to anyone willing to listen。 I would have liked to see more of Ellis and Verity together。 I love the two of them， and they are still a great couple， I just wanted a bit more intimacy between them， I guess。 The biggest relationship growth was between Verity and her mother。 I also enjoyed the little side plot with Melody。 There are less ghostly interactions， but Franky is more than enough ghost for any story。 I'm looking forward to the next one。Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。 。。。more

The setting of this book makes me feel at home。 I grew up in a small town in Germany and I know exactly what the author is describing， especially gossip-wise。 I thoroughly enjoyed the small-town vibes and the paranormal aspects of the book。 The case was interesting and reminded me of an episode of “Bones” with the time-capsule element。 I did not read the first installments of this series， but I think the relationships and past events were summarized well enough to dive right into the case。The on The setting of this book makes me feel at home。 I grew up in a small town in Germany and I know exactly what the author is describing， especially gossip-wise。 I thoroughly enjoyed the small-town vibes and the paranormal aspects of the book。 The case was interesting and reminded me of an episode of “Bones” with the time-capsule element。 I did not read the first installments of this series， but I think the relationships and past events were summarized well enough to dive right into the case。The one thing I did not like about the story was that I just could not connect with Frankie。 He was a very annoying character， and I was tempted to skim over his fits and complaints （which happened quite often）。 In fact， the case would probably have been solved much earlier if it wasn’t for his “tantrums”。 The book would have been a solid 4-star for me， but sadly I just can’t get over how much I disliked Frankie。**Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

I am totally addicted to this series。 The Haunted Homecoming is book 10 of the Southern Spirits series。 Just when you think Angie Fox has nailed it， she comes up with another irresistible mystery。 Combine， homecoming parade， football game， dance， and the opening of the class of 86’s time capsule。 You’ll be amazed how all the clues tie together。 Excellent book！ Now I just have to wait until she finishes book 11。 😍😂

One of my most favorite series ever！！！ I loved loved loved this book。 I loved the storyline， I loved the bickering Verity had with her mom， and I loved the setting。 It was a refreshing change to see Verity accepting her newfound public acknowledgement of seeing ghosts and I hope to see more of it！ Something else I loved？ Zero appearances of her almost mother in law。 What I didn't like？ Frankie。 The last 3 books have so thoroughly turned me off to him that in the beginning when he went "missing，" One of my most favorite series ever！！！ I loved loved loved this book。 I loved the storyline， I loved the bickering Verity had with her mom， and I loved the setting。 It was a refreshing change to see Verity accepting her newfound public acknowledgement of seeing ghosts and I hope to see more of it！ Something else I loved？ Zero appearances of her almost mother in law。 What I didn't like？ Frankie。 The last 3 books have so thoroughly turned me off to him that in the beginning when he went "missing，" I wasn't even bummed at the thought of no more Frankie like I used to be previously。 The cliffhanger in this one has me eagerly anticipating the next book though！ Can't wait to read it！ 。。。more

I love this series so much！ I'm already itching for the next installment。 This book was great。 Verity's mother comes to town finally because of a time capsule that would be dug up during homecoming week。 I will say the author did a great job at making her mom an unlikable character because boy， was she aggravating at times。 If she is ever in another book I'd love to see her as just a support person not as a partner in investigation with Verity。 We don't get much of Ellis in this book， but I like I love this series so much！ I'm already itching for the next installment。 This book was great。 Verity's mother comes to town finally because of a time capsule that would be dug up during homecoming week。 I will say the author did a great job at making her mom an unlikable character because boy， was she aggravating at times。 If she is ever in another book I'd love to see her as just a support person not as a partner in investigation with Verity。 We don't get much of Ellis in this book， but I like that we could focus on other things in Verity's life other than her love life。I could guess the killer， but I've almost became a pro at guessing cozy mystery killers。 However， Frankie's secret took me by surprise。 I actually gasped when Melody told Verity what she found out。 。。。more

Sugarland is even crazier than usual with the advent of homecoming week and everyone is reliving their high school glory days。 Even Verity’s mother Tilly has returned home especially to catch up with her old school friend Ashley。 In addition to the usual festivities is the early excavation of a time capsule buried during homecoming week some 36 years previous。 Trouble is no one expected to find a skeleton buried with the capsule。 Making it personal for Verity is the identity of the victim – Till Sugarland is even crazier than usual with the advent of homecoming week and everyone is reliving their high school glory days。 Even Verity’s mother Tilly has returned home especially to catch up with her old school friend Ashley。 In addition to the usual festivities is the early excavation of a time capsule buried during homecoming week some 36 years previous。 Trouble is no one expected to find a skeleton buried with the capsule。 Making it personal for Verity is the identity of the victim – Tilly’s friend Ashley last seen leaving the dance to run away with her secret lover。As someone from a country where homecoming isn’t a thing it seemed a bit bizarre to me how everyone in the town， no matter how old， reverted back to their teenage years。 Then I realised that I’m the same age as Verity’s mum and that was a bit of a shock to the system though I did enjoy all the cultural references the eighties。 As usual these cosy mysteries are a great way to spend a rainy afternoon。 The humour and banter between Verity and Frankie is so well written it makes it a joy to read。 The plot this time seemed a little more complex to me but again that might be just be down to my ignorance about American traditions like homecoming week。 This book is a stand-alone but it does end on a semi-cliffhanger/hint for the next book in the series。 。。。more
